After construction accident, man thinks it's Valentine's Day

As many Illinois workers know, a fall is a fairly common construction accident. All it takes is one little slip up on a ladder, and the worker can suffer a work injury. Sometimes, these falls can be fatal while other times the worker can survive but be seriously injured in a construction accident. Unfortunately for one man, after a fall from a ladder caused him a concussion, he is living Valentine's Day over and over again.

Workers' compensation needed for man killed in Illinois crash

For many Illinois drivers, it is hard to contemplate that a trucker would ever need workers' compensation. After all, truckers are generally the giants of the road. For this reason, they can often seem impervious to other drivers and the thought of them needing workers' compensation, let alone workers' compensation death benefits for their families, may seem strange. However, one recent Illinois crash underscores the fact that a tragedy can happen just about any place and to just about anybody.

Workplace accident for transit worker

An Illinois transit worker was recently injured while working on repairing the Red Line train in Chicago. While the nature of the worker's injuries was not initially disclosed, the worker was reported to be in good condition after the workplace accident. Shortly after the accident occurred, he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Construction workers' accident results in death of one

Each year, thousands of workplace injuries happen across the country. Luckily, most of the incidents are relatively minor. Even so, the injured worker may be entitled to benefits through hir or her state's workers' compensation system. These benefits provide compensation to most workers who suffer from job-related injuries or illnesses and are generally paid regardless of fault. Sadly, in some cases it's not an injured worker who receives these benefits but rather the family of a worker who was killed on the job, such as the case of an Illinois construction worker's accident late last month.
