When you go to work, the last thing on your mind is probably having an accident. However, there are many people at work every day to ensure that you are kept safe on the job in Illinois. Still, despite these attempts, accidents still happen. According to Arbill, there are some workplace accidents that are more prevalent than others, and they can occur regardless of what type of work you do.

Some accidents happen mainly in high-risk professions, such as construction or manufacturing. Some of these include machinery injuries, such as being caught in a machine or struck by a moving part, and fires or explosions. These accidents often occur due to malfunctions, which can usually be avoided through proper inspections, and not following safety measures.

Beyond that, there are accidents that can occur in almost industry. This includes repetitive stress injuries, which do not occur right away but develop over time. This type of injury include carpal tunnel syndrome, which is often linked with typing and computer work, but that can also occur whenever you make the same movement over and over. Another category of accident that could happen in any job is slips, trips and falls. While these may be more severe in the higher risk occupations, even a fall in an office could be serious.

All of these accidents can be prevented if safety regulations are followed. You should receive safety training no matter where you work or what you do. Oftentimes, injuries occur because people underestimate risks. This information is for education and is not legal advice.
